This position will provide technical expertise and leadership in Research and Development projects.
Primary focus would be on wheat, triticale, oats, conventional beans and chickpeas.
This individual will independently conceive, plan and direct research for the development of commercially successful products.
Responsibilities - Lead for Long-Term Strategy Development regarding Genetics - Work with Product Managers to establish broad product targets and build breeding capabilities to deliver on targets - Design and direct yield trials - Develop protocols and coordinate note taking - Work with Product Managers in advancement decisions - Lead strategies for data collection and storage - Identify opportunities for partnerships to reach targeted breeding capabilities - Evaluate the progress of breeding partnerships to ensure the reaching of milestones Requirements - Minimum of Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.
g.
, plant breeding, genetics) - Minimum of two years experience in a plant breeding or product development role - Proficient in data collection, analysis and interpretation - Knowledge of plant breeding, quantitative genetics and field experimental design - Ability to travel frequently throughout the growing season True to our roots since 1999, Northern Star Seed has been focused on delivering industry leading, top-performing genetics for small grains, forages and field peas.
